Chocolate Covered Bananas
Here's a simple and delicious recipe for chocolate-covered bananas. They are easy to make and a great recipe you can make with your kids.
Ingredients
4 ripe but firm bananas
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
Assorted toppings (optional):
Chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, etc.)
- Hemp seeds
- Sprinkles
- Shredded coconut
- Sea salt
Instructions
1. Prepare a parchment lined baking sheet. Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise.
2. Insert a popsicle stick or skewer into the flat end of each banana half.
3. In a small saucepan, slowly melt the chocolate and coconut oil together over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
4. Dip each banana into the melted chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
5. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your choice of toppings over the bananas.
6. Place the chocolate-covered bananas on the parchment-lined baking sheet and put them in the freezer for about 2 hours.
7. Remove from freezer and enjoy!
